About this Event

Join Rainbow Glasgaroos for a screening of the Hoop Dreams (1994) and a panel discussion. Hoop Dreams follows the lives of two African-American teenagers from Chicago who struggle to become college basketball players on the road to going professional. In the essay by the seminar author, activist and feminist Bell Hooks, encourages us to take a critical view of the highly praised documentary. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A about the documentary.

The Rainbow Glasgaroos is a queer basketball group for anyone of any skill, gender identity, or sexual orientation; we welcome all! We endeavour to foster a community and create a fun environment for LGBTQIA+ people to get fit, gain access to sport, learn new skills and socialise through basketball.
