Sky Duncan is a mixed-media artist & dancer. Sky’s preferred gender pronouns are they/he/she. Sky is from Mesa, Arizona, and is Arikara, Hidatsa, Mandan, and San Carlos Apache tribes.
He began dancing at a very early age, as part of his family dance group, YellowBird Productions. His father being an art teacher, and mother being a museum director, Sky has always been in and around indigenous culture.
Sky has been a hoop-dance instructor for the past 6 years, teaching at the Pueblo of Pojoaque, Ballet Arizona, and the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community.
This past February, Sky took part as one of the Head Two-Spirit Dancers at the 13th Annual Bay Area American Indian Two-Spirit Pow Wow (BAAITS) in San Francisco. Sky also competed in the 34th Annual World Championship Hoop Dance Competition and placed 6th in the adult division.
