Bringing Our Community Together
The Honouring Life Community Conference is a first of its kind event in Bury, co-hosted by Uplift Unite, ADAB, and a network of local partners to unite professionals, community leaders, and organisations. This collaborative effort is dedicated to fostering a compassionate space where individuals can connect, learn, and gain support around bereavement and loss, with workshops addressing topics like death and diversity, suicide prevention, and support for children and young people. Together, we aim to address the deeply human experiences of death and grief, uniting Bury’s diverse community on a shared journey of understanding, healing, and resilience.
Conference Highlights
- Keynote Speeches: Delivered by leading figures in the fields of grief, bereavement, and mental health, offering both emotional and practical guidance.
- Workshops: Interactive sessions on topics such as suicide prevention, cultural approaches to grief, and the psychological impact of loss. Attendees will gain valuable insights and practical tools to support themselves and others.
- Market Stalls: A range of stalls showcasing local organisations and services, providing resources, information, and opportunities for support, networking and collaboration.

The Universal Experience of Grief
Death and bereavement are experiences that touch us all, transcending cultures, religions, ages, and social groups. While the ways we express grief may differ, the emotions of loss and the need for support are universal.
This conference seeks to create a space where shared stories, diverse insights, and meaningful connections can unite us. By fostering mutual understanding and promoting collective healing, we can honour life and strengthen our bonds as a community.
Collaboration for a Stronger Community
The conference serves as a platform to unite professionals, community leaders, and organisations in providing enhanced support for those affected by bereavement. Together, we aim to strengthen Bury’s resilience by sharing experiences, resources, and knowledge.
