Honouring grief in our lives
A focus on opening to grief as a being more human
Grief is the other side of Love. Whatever we love, we will lose, at some point or another. We are all touched by grief; it is a common human experience for each one of us. Grief is not only for the loss of those we love, huge as this can be, but it can also include grief for our planet, for the suffering we see in our world, for ancestral grief, for our unresolved wounds, and the things we hoped for but remain unfulfilled.
This day workshop will explore the nature of grief, our personal and societal avoidance strategies, and the value of welcoming grief in our lives. We will use practices such as asana/ posture practice, simple sitting or meditation, yoga nidra, pair or group work, and questions and answers to enter into this territory in a supportive and accessible way.
Grief is not something we need to fix, but to honour. The more we can allow our grief to move and express, the more it opens space for gratitude, appreciation, and even love.

Death as a teacher
Turning to face the reality of death and how it can teach us to make the most of this transient life
We know death as being the end of the physical body, an experience that will inevitably come to each one of us in time. Yet Death is also one with Life, like two sides of the same coin. It is present in the transient nature of life. The sun rises and sets, relationships blossom and fade, experiences come and go, and the exhalation follows the inhalation to give simple examples. The more we can develop the flexibility and openness to Life’s inevitable changes, the more we can celebrate Life without clinging to it or resisting too tightly to that which we find challenging.
The willingness and capacity to let go into the flow of Life as it naturally arises, is fundamental to living a more creative and joyful life. In this sense, Death can be like a teacher to us, reminding us of essentials, rather than being lost too much in superficialities.
The day will include some asana/ posture practice, simple sitting or meditation, yoga nidra and questions and answers.

Cost is £60 per day which includes a delicious nutritious lunch provided by Bilberry Bee ( Vegetarian/vegan/gluten free) and refreshments throughout the day.
