About this Event
Join us at Moonwalk to honor the Mississippi River and celebrate the fall issue of the Water Map. With the river as backdrop, Spy Boy Walter of the Beautiful Creole Apache will lead participants in sewing and drumming as we contribute to a collective art piece and explore how Mardi Gras Indian culture can connect us to the water. Poet Chasity Hunter will share a spoken word performance that speaks to our relationship to water. The Water Leaders Institute and the Water Map team will talk about the importance of the river to New Orleans and Bulbancha, and share copies of the fall 2024 Water Map: Levees.
All ages and abilities are welcome.
(In case of rain or other inclement weather, we will shift this event to the following Saturday, December 14.)
