As the veil thins and the season of remembrance opens, we gather in the old ways to honor those who came before us. In Italian folk tradition, autumn is a portal of deep connection with our beloved dead—an invitation to tend the bonds between the living and the ancestors who guide us.During this gathering, we will:
✨ Craft a traditional amaro—a bittersweet herbal liqueur—rooted in Italian folk herbalism, blending plants that open the heart and carry prayers across the veil.
✨ Learn simple and profound ways to honor and connect with our ancestors through ritual, altar practices, and offerings.
✨ Create space to share stories, songs, and memories, weaving ourselves back into the lineage that holds us.
This is a hands-on, heart-led workshop where each participant will go home with their own jar of ancestral amaro, infused with intention and remembrance.
Jenna Faccenda is an Italian American folk herbalist, witch and writer. When she isn’t tending to her son, puppy, or cats, she is working with her herbal ancestors through Widow Apothecary. Her teachings and practices are rooted in her Southern Italian heritage, drawing inspiration from the rich traditions of Sicily and Campania, as well as the guidance of her mentors on the plant path. These insights reflect Jenna's journey within the Italian diaspora, honoring the invaluable lessons she has learned along the way.
