Join the Tamir Rice Foundation for a night to commemorate and honor the life of Tamir E. Rice for the 11th Year since his M**der by police. Proceeds from this event will contribute to the Tamir Rice Afro-Centric Cultural Center.
This event will take place on November 8, 2025 from 4:45-9:45 PM at Near West Theatre in Cleveland, OH.
The night will include a pre-show social hour, the 75-minute theater production of "Objectively/Reasonable...", and a post-show Talkback featuring Ms. Samaria Rice,Terrence Spivey, Phyllis Yvonne Stickney, and more.
"Objectively/Reasonable: A Community Response to the Shooting of Tamir Rice, 11/22/14", directed by award-winning former Karamu House artistic director, Terrence Spivey, is a collection of visceral monologues developed through Cleveland professional theatre company, Playwrights Local and prominent playwrights, Mike Geither, Tom Hayes, Lisa Langford, Michael Oatman and David Todd.
The upcoming production presented by the Tamir Rice Foundation in association with Powerful Long Ladder was originally produced by Playwrights Local. It premiered in 2016 and a revival in 2017. The critically acclaimed play received numerous awards, and nationwide exposure with dramatized excerpts on former ABC Nightline reporter/Emmy winner, Michel Martin, National Public Radio show "Going There".
The latest version with special guest, PHYLLIS YVONNE STICKNEY, is a reimagining of the community response interlaced with movement, song, music and multimedia capturing the soul of twelve year old, Tamir Rice, in a crossfire in the world of police brutality.
