Cowtown Country Club has been delighting audiences with renditions of Western Swing, Classic Country, and sure-to-make-you-smile “country-fried” pop covers since 2017. Featuring intricate, four-part-harmonies that recall vocal groups such as Manhattan Transfer and the Andrews Sisters, Cowtown Country Club delivers an eclectic mix of country, jazz, and pop — all while handling their own rhythm section duties on dueling guitars, double bass and drums.
They’ve conjured up a swingin’, surprising take on Country and Western, delivered with a wink and a smile. A sound that’s both farm-fresh and deeply familiar. A new riff on an old recipe. You’ll be delighted.
Cowtown Country Club has performed in greater Kansas City at the Plaza Art Fair, Briarfest, Crossroads Music Festival, Art in the Loop, Lansing DAZE, Old Shawnee Days Festival, Overland Park Botanical Gardens Annual STEMS Gala. Regionally, at Junkfest (Omaha, NE), Arapaho Valley Ranch Bluegrass Festival (Granby, CO), and feature artists on Saturday Night, Stage 5 at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, KS.
They have appeared at Stockyards Brewing Co., Knuckleheads, The Brick, KC Bier Co., Martin City Brewing Co., The RINO, Westport Saloon (RIP), and at private events across the KC metro area. They have performed live on KKFI community radio, and their late-2018 eponymous debut album was nominated for KC “Best of 2019” [sic.] lists, before being disqualified. It was truly a sound ahead of its time. The band was subsequently profiled in Pitch Magazine.
Cowtown Country Club frequently collaborates with other artists, and continues to perform regularly, most recently with the addition of twin-fiddlers for larger musical engagements. They released two original singles, "It’s A Great Day for Day Drinkin’," and "Undone" in 2023, in advance of their much-anticipated 2024 full-length album.
