About this Event
Honeybees and their human keepers have been teaming up for thousands of years to not only make nutritious honey, but also to turn some of it into the oldest alcoholic beverage known to man – honey mead. Join beekeepers and mead makers on a short walking tour and visit to the Shenandoah County Beekeepers working apiary at Seven Bends State Park, followed by an introductory talk on the originals of mead, the basic process of fermenting honey into mead, and then enjoy samples of local mead. (Tastings depend on obtaining ABC license). This program is geared towards adults 21 years old or older.There is a $5 charge for the program at will be collected that evening.
A vaild daily or annual parking pass must be displayed in vehicles while parked on the property.
