About this Event
"Leadership" is a word we see often these days. From LinkedIn posts to job ads, we’re constantly told to become leaders. But what are we actually becoming leaders for?
What if leadership isn’t just about climbing fast, but about choosing where and why we climb at all?
In this second edition of Honest Conversations, we are joined by three young professionals and leaders who started their careers in high-need classrooms across Malaysia. Today, they drive impact in critical areas of nationbuilding such as higher education access, school leadership and public policy — but their stories began with a decision to understand what inequality looks like up close and on ground. Together, we will explore how this experience shaped their values, challenged their ideas of personal ambition, and redefined what leadership means to them—and who it’s truly for.
The session will also feature:
💬 A keynote by an industry leader on the role of young people in shaping and leading Malaysia's future
📚 An Interactive Library where you can interact with Teach For Malaysia Fellows who spent two years teaching, and learn how it redefined their leadership philosophy beyond education.
🤝 Networking lunch with impact leaders, Fellows, and Alumni who are also on a journey to build careers with purpose
