Homophonic! is bringing the disco ball to the concert hall, and the concert hall to Shepparton Brewery!Join Artistic Director Miranda Hill, the Homophonic! string quintet, and the soaring voices of The Consort of Melbourne for an afternoon of unapologetically queer music.
This is a concert that goes straight to the heart, telling stories inspired by the very real lives, loves, losses, and hijinks of seniors from regional LGBTIQ+ communities throughout Victoria. Written by queer and gender diverse composers, these pieces are personal, touching, and a truly distilled form of storytelling. From the poignant to the downright raucous, every work is a surprise and a delight: from Jenni, a Golburn Valley bus driver who has 'finally come out of her cocoon' to Robbie, a trans ex-fighter pilot who continues to live life in the fast lane.
