About this Event
The Homewood Arts Council (HAC) welcomes back MILES NIELSEN for a solo performance before an intimately sized audience at Senior Hall, located on the grounds of the Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve. From bands such as Harmony Riley to Miles Nielsen & The Rusted Hearts, the Rockford, IL native explores a wide musical palette that could include everything from the soulfulness of Otis Redding and raucousness of Van Halen to Americana and bubblegum pop music.
Miles Nielsen & The Rusted Hearts are currently working on a follow-up album to 2019's OHBAHOY.
Doors open at 6:15pm.
Opening the evening will be our special guest ANYA BRUMFIELD. Anya is an emerging violin artist in Chicago. She received her bachelor's in violin performance in 2020 at the Jacobs School of Music as a student at Indiana University. Some of her previous instructors include teaching artist Addison Teng and string pedagog Mimi Zweig. In the Spring of 2022, Anya became a member of D-Composed; an all black chamber collective that aims to celebrate blackness through the lens of classical musicians. As a freelance musician, Anya enjoys performing different styles of music. She has been blessed to share the stage with a variety of artists including Arthur Verocai, Ms. Lauryn Hill, and Sigur Rós.
Family Wine and Liquor will have beer, wine and premixed cocktails for sale.
Pizza, water and soft drinks will also be available for purchase. Cash/Card accepted.
The HAC thanks the Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve for generously sharing its space.
