Most cute treats for a special event, are made with the use of oh-so-cute silicone molds. Silicone molds are easy to use for chocolate and fondant details, are very durable, and generally easy to find on the internet.
BUT, they aren’t always cheap – especially the homemade food grade ones found on Etsy.
Come join Jaxon and Aurora as we learn how to safely measure chemicals and mix them to create our own food-safe silicone molds!
Students will dig through charms and embellishments to pick out three sets of molds of their own to create (and use if they are participating in the dessert table class). Then, we will have an activity that explores the science behind how 2 liquids mixed together, turn into a solid 24 hours later!
Location: Menard Center Commercial Kitchen in Wasilla
Date: Wednesday September 10, 12:00pm-2:00pm
Cost: $105 - We are a DIRECT BILL vendor for Matsu Central, IDEA, Twindly Bridge, Raven, Cyberlynx and FOCUS.
This class involves Science, Math, Art, and Life Skills!
Suggested Age: Student should be 8 years or older, otherwise, it is recommended to have an older helper with them.

• What will I learn?
o Students will learn how to design and make a food-grade silicone mold
o Students will learn how to safely measure and mix silicone chemicals with a scale
o Students will learn the science behind how the 2 liquids mix together to create a solid 24 hours later

• What will I take home?
o Students will eventually take home the molds they created when they return for the dessert class
o Students will get to immediately use their molds in the dessert table class to decorate all of their treats!
Students take home guided instructions on how to make food-safe silicone molds again!
