Hello, wonderful homeschooling community!

I’m excited to bring you a dynamic event, tailored to inspire our second and third graders (7 & 8 years olds) through engaging teamwork and academic challenges.

This day will be packed with a blend of brain-teasing puzzles and collaborative group activities designed to foster camaraderie and a competitive spirit.

Enhanced Academic Challenge:

• Our academic challenge will encompass science, math, and history in an “Academia Triathlon.”

• Participants will receive 3 pages of study material to prepare for this multifaceted test, two weeks before the competition day.

• As a group, they’ll work together to answer questions, demonstrating the power of teamwork, trust, and humility.

Siblings Welcome:

• Siblings are encouraged to come and support their family members.

• We will set up a creative station with paint, playdough, and slime for younger children.

Registration & Fees:

• A $40 fee per child will be required to cover event essentials such as supplies, medals, facility use, and food.

• The event will foster an Olympic-style awards system.

Remember, this challenge is about more than just winning; it’s about growth, learning, and being part of a supportive team, excitement, education, and team spirit!

This event has a Limited capacity of 20 attendees.

7 and 8 yrs old only!

Registration closes on April 30th

Embracing All Outcomes:

• An essential part of this event is learning to gracefully accept all outcomes, including defeat. It’s an opportunity to understand that competition results, whether it’s a win or a loss, are a chance to learn and grow.

• We believe in equipping our children with the ability to handle competition in a healthy way. This event will be a safe space for them to experience both the joys of victory and the lessons that come with not coming in first.

Considerations for Participation:

• If you feel your child may not yet be ready to navigate the emotional aspects of a competitive environment, it may be best to wait until they are more prepared. This event is about celebrating effort and improvement, not just winning.

• For those who join, we’ll emphasize the value of every experience—win or lose—as a step towards personal development.

• This event requires a minimum number of participants to proceed. Should we not meet this threshold, the event will be canceled, and all registered participants will be fully refunded.

• Once we have confirmed enough participants, I will reach out to our community to seek volunteers. These volunteers will play a crucial role in mentoring each team, guiding them through their emotions and experiences, and finding teachable moments throughout the competition.

A Personal Note:

• As a homeschooling mom of four, I am not representing an organization or school. This initiative is born from my desire to introduce my daughters, and your children too, to the spirit of healthy competition. It’s important for them to learn to be gracious in both victory and defeat, to celebrate others’ successes, and to take pride in their own achievements.
