In this exclusive program for homeschool families, learners will enjoy a special piano performance in the museum’s galleries by Spanish pianist Rosalía Gómez Lasheras, then discuss works of art with museum docents, and finish their experience with a hands-on art activity.Space is limited and advanced registration is required. This is not a drop-off program; children must be accompanied by at least one adult over the age of 18.
This program is offered in collaboration with the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain in Washington, DC, and the Department of Piano Studies in the Meadows School of the Arts.
Free admission is offered to all youth 18 and under through August 31, 2023, thanks to a grant from Fichtenbaum Charitable Trust, Bank of America, N.A., Co-Trustee.
About Rosalía Gómez Lasheras
Born in Santiago de Compostela in 1994, Rosalía Gómez Lasheras began her piano studies at age five. After winning the Young Pianist Foundation Competition in Amsterdam (2013), she debuted as a soloist in halls across Europe, USA and the Middle East. Critics have praised her outstanding artistic maturity, and she was awarded the title Galician of the Year by the newspaper El Correo Gallego in 2015 for her striking career.
