Studio photography is an art in itself which can take years to master and lots of expensive equipment. BUT, there are lots of tips and tricks to get the shots you need in a pinch, whether you're trying to shoot on-location somewhere with minimal equipment, or shoot an image in your home with no professional gear. If you've ever needed clear images of artwork to send off for a contest or portfolio, wanted to take nice photos of your crafts or sellable wares for a website, or if you're interested in documenting natural items for scientific purposes, this class will help you achieve just that, and to do it with simple materials you have around your home or can pick up from a craft store. Some of the topics discussed in this class will be background choices, reducing glare and shadow, basic editing, lighting techniques with both natural light and tools found in the home, as well as creative applications for fine art.
If the student has a camera (point and shoot digital), a cell phone with camera, or a tablet with camera, please bring it fully-charged to class this day so that they can shoot their images on their own devices. Any student that does not have a device of their own will have access to a digital device to use and share in class, and then the images will be downloaded and emailed out to participants after class.
Class size for this specific workshop will be kept extra small due to the nature of the amount of hands-on work we'll be doing together in class. This workshop is also designed for our middle and high school level students, ages 12-18 years.
Cost: $36/student
Advance registration IS required. If this is your first class with us (or your first with US at the PEA Studio prior to 2023), please plan to arrive 5 minutes early to fill out paperwork before dropping your student off.
Please also note that registration will not work if you've clicked directly from this Facebook event- you need to open the link in your system browser from a phone, or register from a laptop or desktop.
