Get ready to bust a move at our Homeschool Sock Hop - a fun-filled event where homeschoolers can groove to some awesome tunes in their favor
About this Event

Homeschoolers,

We invite you to join us for the Homeschool Sock Hop! Get ready to dance the evening away at The Barn at Wall’s Pond. Grab your coolest socks, poodle skirts, and 50's attire, and join us for a fun-filled event with music, games, food, and more. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or just looking to have a blast from the past, this is the perfect opportunity to let loose and enjoy some old-school tunes. Don't miss out on this chance to twist and shout with friends and make some new memories. See you there!

This event will have plenty of snacks and goodies for your student to munch on throughout the evening, as well as an outstanding DJ who will keep them moving and grooving all night long. The attire for this event (details below) will be casual. We are encouraging students to dress in fun, Sock Hop themed apparel. A photographer will be available and will be taking candid photos/videos throughout the evening, but don't forget to grab a few selfies at the photo booth to keep these memories alive all year long.

This event is for ages 14-19 years old. Please make sure to include all information when registering to include birthdate, NC Homeschool Name, correct phone number and mailing address, and information concerning dietary restrictions. We will do our best to accommodate those needs based on logistics and feasibility.

This event will be heavily chaperoned and monitored; students will be required to remain indoors during the duration of the event for safety purposes. We will have door monitors and bathroom monitors, as well as a plethora of volunteers that will be walking about the entire evening to ensure that everyone stays safe and has a wonderful time.

Please arrive early to take photos outdoors around the beautifully decorated property of The Barn; however, note that attendees will not be able to enter the venue until 6:00pm.

Event Attire: Casual

Young Men are permitted to wear comfortable clothing, to include slacks, jeans, t-shirts, polos, or short sleeve button-up shirts. Clothing with Sock Hop themed styles are encouraged. Please make sure your student wears appropriate footwear as they will be moving around, dancing, and playing games throughout the evening.

Young Ladies should select a modest dress, skirt, or pant that reflects the evening’s dress code (casual) but still allows for movement and dancing. Skirts and dresses should be at least knee length. Young ladies who's dresses and skirts do not meet dress code will be requested to change before entry into the event. Long dresses with slits that are open above the knee will need to be sewn together to the appropriate length prior to the evening’s festivities. I strongly advise against strapless dresses or tops unless straps are added. Most young ladies at this age tend to run, dance, and move around a great deal, and it can be quite miserable for a young lady to constantly be having to pull up her dress all evening long, rather than just being able to relax and have a great time. With the dress code being casual, young ladies will also be permitted to wear clothing to include jeans, pants, jumpers, casual modest shirts, etc. Sock Hop themed or styled attire is strongly suggested and lends to the overall fun of the evening.

If you have any further questions or concerns; please feel free to contact us and we will respond as soon as possible. Thank you, and we look forward to having you with us for this year's Homeschool Sock Hop!

Attendance:

Due to logistics and necessity, we will need to require a minimum of at least 50 students in order to host this event. If that number is not met by October 1, 2024; we will have no choice but to cancel said event and issue refunds for tickets purchased. We will be unable to refund Eventbrite's personal fees, but all other funds will be refunded if the occasion arises. Thank you for your support and understanding.
