Come learn more about the relationships between trees and birds in a day of outdoor learning and fun! Explore using binoculars to locate and identify birds we see. Then, we will explore how different beak shapes influence what birds eat, such as seeds, and model how birds disperse tree seeds. Finally, we will help birds and our urban forest habitat by removing invasive species to promote native species growth that our native birds rely on.Birds rely on trees for their homes and food, while many trees rely on birds and other animals to spread their seeds. In order for our native birds and trees to thrive here in Atlanta, we need to make sure they have the resources they need, including water, sunlight, and space. We can help our native trees and birds by removing invasive species that threaten our native species and restoring our forests to more of their natural state.
