September 16: Homeschool Day at the Garden10am-1pm
Explore nature with your homeschool student at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden. Our Homeschool Day offers school-age children the opportunity to participate in self-guided learning activities at various stations throughout the Gardens. Your child can discover wildlife, experiment with science, create nature art, and explore botany.
Learning Stations Include:
* Life in the Pond – Explore life in the pond by using dip nets to catch tadpoles, small fish, and more!
* Meet Live Animals! – Meet live animals and talk with expert caretakers
* Plant Adaptations – Explore the amazing variety of plants from spikey cacti to carnivorous fly traps.
* Watershed Demonstration Table – Explore the science of pollution with an interactive model of a watershed.
* Building Zone – A free play building zone with everything from marble tracks to magna-tiles!
* And more!
Homeschool Day is ideal for children ages 5-11 (Kindergarten to 5th grade). The program includes admission for the participating child and access to a dozen learning station activities. The cost is $5 per participating child, plus general admission or membership for any accompanying adults or siblings.
Preregistration is appreciated, but drop-ins are also welcome!
