Explore the museum at your own pace, play Chumash games, and join a guided hike along our beautiful trails to our replica village. Feel free to bring a lunch to enjoy at the picnic tables under the ancient oak trees.
This self-guided tour gives students an opportunity to learn about the culture and history of the Chumash people, the original caretakers of this land. Basketry, shell-bead making, cave painting, ethnobotany, village life, and tomols, the traditional plank canoe, are some of the topics available for exploration.
