In our first lesson in Homeschool Art History: Textile Traditions we will explore the rich history of Kente Cloth weaving. We will learn this important textile that originated in the Ashanti Kingdom of West Africa. We will create our own paper Kente Cloths by painting designs on two sheets of cardstock, cutting them into strips, weaving them together and putting yarn tassels on them as a finishing touch!
