Celebrate the people, places, moments, and iconic intersections where pop culture and Wisconsin meet.
What makes Wisconsin pop culture unique? From the Packers and Oscar Meyer to Liberace and Trixie Mattel, join the Wisconsin Historical Society and the Milwaukee County Historical Society as they partner to present the exhibition of Homegrown: Wisconsin Pop Culture at the Milwaukee County Historical Society headquarters. View over 15 items in the exhibit spotlighting Wisco-culture, learn about iconic Badger State contributions to TV, media, sports, and industry—from Happy Days to Harley Davidson to Hildegarde and more—and gain a better understanding of our place in popular culture history.
The exhibit will be on display from November 2024 through March 2025, and will highlight both popular culture and the historic partnership between Milwaukee County Historical Society and the Wisconsin Historical Society as they work to protect, preserve, and present the past for generations of Wisconsinites to come.

Daily Visitor: $8.00
Senior (62 and over): $6.00
Military: $6.00
Children (13-18) & Full-time Students: $6.00

Wisconsin Historical Society members receive a 50% discount

Parking
The Milwaukee County Historical Society is partnering with Power Parking to provide discounted visitor parking. For $10 you may park in the 847 N. Plankinton Ave. Lot (at the corner of Plankinton Ave. and Kilbourn Ave.) for up to 5 hours. 20% of the revenue will be donated directly back to MCHS.
For discounted parking, DO NOT scan and pay at the lot. After parking your car, instructions for payment will be available at the front desk in the Historical Center.
Accessibility
Elevators are available to access the second floor. Handicapped accessible doors are located on the east side of the building. Additionally, a vehicle drop-off /loading zone is accessible on W. Kilbourn Avenue.
MCHS is proud to partner with Museums for All. Through this program, those receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits) can gain free or reduced admission to more than 500 museums throughout the United States simply by presenting their photo ID and EBT card. Cost is FREE for up to four people per family.

Closings
Milwaukee County Historical Society is closed every year on the following days: Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Years Day.
About the Location
The Milwaukee County Historical Society was founded in 1935 and has become “the place for people to learn about and to celebrate Milwaukee.” MCHS began as the repository for county records and has since expanded its services to the community to include education, historic site, and artifact preservation and more. More than one million documents and photographs and more than 75,000 artifacts are preserved by MCHS—artifacts that the Society remains committed to exhibiting for community members.
