New Orleans, LA - The 9th Annual HomeFest on Bayou Road will be held on Sunday, October 20th on the 2400 & 2500 blocks of Bayou Road from 12PM to 6PM. Hosted by Bayou Road Business Association, Black Bayou Cultural Heritage & Economic Development Association and Broad Community Connections, the community is invited to support local businesses in celebration of the cultural heritage and the entrepreneurial spirit of Bayou Road. Created by Community Book Center, this festival aims to elevate local talent, businesses and cultural institutions while fostering economic development in the Bayou Road and Broad Street neighborhoods. "HomeFest is our opportunity to showcase the Bayou Road communities two decades of intentional community power and wealth building," says Dasjon Jordan, Executive Director of Broad Community Connections. "It (HomeFest) is our humble offering to continue to support our Black merchants, business owners, artists and culture bearers in the spirit of common unity (Community) on the historic Bayou Road," adds Vera Warren-Williams, Founder & Director of Community Book Center.
The festival will feature a food, vendor and community resource marketplace, an insightful panel discussion sponsored by The Highlander Center, performances by KUUMBA Academy, Cherchez La Femme, DJ Legatron Prime, Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph and special guest, singer and songwriter, Tweet and many more.

Broad Community Connections (BCC) is a community development organization dedicated to building community power, wealth, and data innovation by investing in the health, economic, residential, and cultural development of Broad Street neighborhoods. Black Bayou is an organization dedicated to improving the economic, historical, and cultural environment for Black-owned businesses and longtime residents of the area. The Bayou Road Business Association (BRBA) is a collaborative initiative composed of majority Black, Brown, and women business and property owners, as well as eligible stakeholders focused on maintaining and improving the commercial corridor.
