Tasting Notes
Abi Is Missing
Abi is fifteen, living in Malabbin and wishing for elsewhere, when one day her parents report her as missing. Malabbin is every town, anywhere in regional Australia. Within minutes, the police have a second missing person case. A seasoned bushy, a man in his prime. Both apparently lost in the same area. Problem is, there are only enough volunteers for one search party. Abi is chosen. This decision has unforeseen and completely unintended consequences.
Six Cakes
Exploring the depth of human emotion and connection, 'Six cakes' examines the parallel life experiences associated with organ donation. Gratitude and grief go hand in hand in this moving piece, reminding us that hope can always be found amongst the bittersweet moments of profound sadness and joy of life, if we are brave enough to look. Jane and Natalie may never meet, but they are acutely aware of the existence of the other and the fact their lives are inextricably linked. Mena is a 'soul baker' who from her boutique cake shop embraces the healing power of special recipes that have been handed down through her family for generations. You are warmly invited to witness the experience, emotions and unwavering strength of two fiercely private women that is rarely shared with the outside world. Sure to inspire brave conversations this play is proof that we can all make a difference, food can heal and life does not always end with death.
- Dan, the Man
Dan is just an ordinary man. There's really nothing special about him, nothing of note. Just another brick in the wall, as Pink Floyd would say.
But maybe, just maybe, Dan could be something more. Maybe he could be someone important. Maybe he could do something great. Maybe he can break out of his monotonous bland existence and be not just a man, but The Man.
But probably not.
