Homebrewed Comedy at the John Barleycorn Tavern

The laughter is coming to Owego when Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage at the John Barleycorn on Wednesday, July 3. Jay Yoder is headlining the show and Seth Ruddick and Jen Kushner are joining host Mike Peters.

The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and there's a recommended $5 donation at the door, which opens at 7. Come out and enjoy the show.

About the comedians:
Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters is the founder of Homebrewed Comedy. He hosts at the Syracuse Funny Bone and Wise Crackers in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcasts, On the Mic with Mike Peters and It’s About Time: A Sopranos Watch Podcast.
Jen Kushner is an up-and-coming comedian in the Binghamton scene. She’ll take part in the Ithaca Laughs Comedy Festival in May. When she’s not on stage, you can catch her playing with the universe because none of this is real.
Seth Ruddick is a comedian and producer in Philadelphia. He grew up in Cortland and was a big part of the upstate scene in New York before moving to New Jersey in 2022. He’s performed all over the Northeast. Ruddick unleashes his cantankerous take on his everyday happenings -- from working overnights to his relationships -- much to the audience’s delight. Ruddick has opened for the Reverend Bob Levy and put thousands of comedy miles on his cars during his comedy career.
Jay Yoder is an accomplished comedian, podcaster and content creator. He’s performed for thousands of people as he’s brought his comedic stylings to the Bored Teachers Comedy Tour. He’s also a regular at Soul Joel’s Comedy Club and was a semifinalist for Magooby’s Comic of the Year in 2023 as well as the winner of Explore DE’s March Laughness Tournament in 2022. He’s performed at the Vermont Comedy Festival, the Portland Comedy Festival and the Good Karma Comedy Festival. He’s the co-host of the Teachers Off Duty Podcast: Season 4, which reached No. 4 on Apple Podcasts, and he hosts a fatherhood podcast called “Seriously, Dad?”
