The laughter is coming to Owego when Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage at the John Barleycorn on Wednesday, July 2. Wendy Wilkins is headlining the show and Rachel Daze and Meghan Rose are joining host Mike Peters.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and there's a recommended $5 donation at the door, which opens at 7. Come out and enjoy the show.
About the comedians:
Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters is the founder of Homebrewed Comedy. He hosts at the Syracuse Funny Bone and Wise Crackers in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcasts, On the Mic with Mike Peters and It’s About Time: A Sopranos Watch Podcast.
Meghan Rose is a dynamic entrepreneur and comedian, who seamlessly balances her role as the owner of Rose Cleaning Company with her passion for stand-up comedy. Having discovered her love for making people laugh in 2022, she quickly fell in love with the art of humor, captivating audiences with her unique perspective and infectious wit. When she’s not on stage, she’s busy running her successful cleaning business alongside her awesome business partner, proving that hard work and laughter can go hand in hand. With every joke she tells and every space she cleans, Meghan is dedicated to leaving a positive impact on the world around her.
Rachel Daze is a spelunking advocate, a truck driver, a Gilbert Gottfried impersonator and an avid liar. A Rochester comedian, she won the Clash of the Comics at the Syracuse Funny Bone and advanced to the finals of the Rochester’s Funniest Person and Funniest Person in Buffalo contests in 2024.
A native of Vestal, N.Y., Wendy Wilkins got her start in stand-up at SUNY New Paltz before moving to Los Angeles in 1992. She’s been there since, working as a comedian, actress, screenwriter and in production for the Cable Guy, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Mr. Show and Malcolm in the Middle. Wilkins’ screenplay Where the Men Are won Best Comedy at the 2019 Creative Screenwriting Awards and the 2018 Creative World Awards.
