The laughter is coming to Owego when Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage at the John Barleycorn on Wednesday, April 2. Ralph Tetta is headlining the show and Stephe Brown and Emma Mitchell are joining host Mike Peters.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and there's a recommended $5 donation at the door, which opens at 7. Come out and enjoy the show.
About the comedians:
Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters is the founder of Homebrewed Comedy. He hosts at the Syracuse Funny Bone and Wise Crackers in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcasts, On the Mic with Mike Peters and It’s About Time: A Sopranos Watch Podcast.
A native Texan, Emma Mitchell brings her southern charm and self hatred to upstate New York. She finds charm in dysfunction, for better and worse. She is everyone’s favorite stereotype and loves to laugh at the profound dumbness of life.
Stephen Brown is a comedian from Binghamton who is way too open for his own good. He’s able to turn the most embarrassing situations in his life into comedic currency for everybody to enjoy. He won the Clash of the Comics at the Syracuse Funny Bone in 2023, has opened for Steve Byrne and performed at the Uptown Comedy Festival and the Finger Lakes Comedy Festival. He also hosts the open mic and comedy showcase at Crooked Mouth in Endicott, N.Y.
Ralph Tetta is an experienced and talented comic, who has lived the comedy life. As a performer, club manager and even as part of the George Carlin tour, Ralph has been everywhere, done everything and seen it all. His blue-collar, Western New York upbringing resonates with his audiences. Whether he’s talking about politics, family life or pop culture, Ralph has an accessible style that is not only hilarious, but honest and real. With more than 30 years in the business, Ralph has a knack for connecting with all types of crowds. From family-friendly events to corporate appearances to gritty clubs, he can size up an audience and deliver the performance that’s just right every time.
