About this Event

The laughs are coming to Auburn when Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage in the speakeasy at Pr*son City Brewery on Thursday, Jan. 2. Paul Kozlowski is headlining and RJ Purpura, Caleb Goldberg and host Mike Peters will be there, too.

It's completely free to attend. Seating at the State Street location begins at 5 p.m., and the show starts at 7. A limited dinner menu is available.

Only 50 tickets are available. No reservations will be taken.

About the comedians:

Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters is the founder of Homebrewed Comedy. He hosts at the Syracuse Funny Bone and Wise Crackers in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcasts, On the Mic with Mike Peters and It’s About Time: A Sopranos Watch Podcast.

Caleb J. Goldberg is one of Upstate New York’s hottest up-and-coming comics. Performing at venues across Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and anywhere that won’t kick him out, Goldberg’s irreverent style dares to ask, “Am I getting paid for this?” With rosy cheeks and a rosier heart, he’s ready to prove that maybe gay people can be funny.

Originally from Rochester, RJ Purpura has been writing and performing comedy for many years and has had the privilege of working with comedians such as Dave Attell, Doug Stanhope, Big Jay Oakerson, Gilbert Gottfriend and Dan Soder. Purpura’s rapid-fire witticisms cover a wide variety of topics, all with an (un)healthy dose of self-deprecation, that lead to him being named the 2017 Funniest Person in Rochester. Purpura has performed all over upstate New York, in New York City, at the Finger Lakes Comedy Festival and the Rochester Fringe Festival.

Paul Kozlowski is one of the most unique voices on the local comedy scene. A Cortland native, Kozlowski came up through the Boston comedy scene and worked in New York City and Los Angeles, making appearances in the Shakes the Clown and Punchline movies and on television in "The Chris Rock Show," "Mr. Show with Bob and David" and "Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist," along with writing for "The Wayne Brady Show," "Johnny Bravo and "The Jon Stewart Show." He also produces the must-listen podcast, Look Who Showed Up. There's no telling what'll come out of Kozlowski's mouth. But you won't be able to look away.
