Home Movie Day is an international celebration of amateur home movie film and video. Look through your attics and search out your family’s home movies. Bring 8mm, Super8mm, 16mm film, VHS, and Video8/Hi8 videotapes. Don't have any to bring? That's okay! You can also just show up and watch the films of others and play Home Movie Day Bingo. Raleigh’s A/V Geeks Transfer Services will transfer film to digital formats for free on-site. This service will be first come first serve and films will be digitized in order of participants on the signup sheet. Only 5 minutes of film will be digitized per participant slot, but people can sign up again should time allow. Only home movies on film and video will be shown, not commercial videos. Materials for digitization will not be accepted after the event, but information on how to have them digitized by A/V Geeks at a later date will be provided.
