Potluck at 12 pm - Presentation at 1 pmPamela Callender is an Eco Artist and educator with roots in Sarasota, Florida since 1972. She specializes in native plant landscape design for the West Coast and Central Florida region. Her microforests are
seen publicly at Jacaranda West Eco Park and The Landings, while most of her designs are for private homeowners. Ms. Callender is the Florida Native Plant Society, Serenoa Chapter Grant Appraiser and a member in good standing with the Sarasota Audubon Society and Sarasota Environmental Council. She currently and for the past seven years, works at Sweetbay Nursery in Parrish, Florida.
Pamela can be seen giving presentations on Native Landscape Design at the Sarasota Audubon Society, many environmental and HOA organizations, and on PBS WEDU, Planted in Art on YouTube. Pamela is
the 2019 recipient of the John Ringling Towers Grant, earning a fellowship with the Hermitage in Englewood, Florida. Pamela completed a bachelor’s in visual arts degree from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, and a Master of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Art from Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont.
She has served the Sarasota community with volunteer work as Art Curator for Fogartyville
Arts Center, Osprey Junction Trailhead, Sarasota County Park, and is an adjunct professor of Eco Art History at Eckerd College, St. Petersburg.
