About this Event

Aunty Social is piloting some creative sessions for home educated young people. Building on the success of the Home Ed: Art Sessions, we now offer our first Home Ed: Photography Session.

Blackpool based Photographer, Henry Iddon joins us to lead this interesting, interactive workshop. We will be covering the following topics:-

A brief history of photography and cameras
Exploring how a camera is similar to your eye
Making a wearable camera obscura, allowing participants to be ‘inside’ a camera and see how they work

This session is aimed at 11-16 year olds.

Young people must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for supervision. Supervising adults would not be participating in the activity but we will have somewhere for them to hang out and a brew station.

This session is part of a pilot run of sessions and we would really welcome your feedback.

Access

Important physical access info: We’re in the process of having a lift installed. It's been tricky and is taking a lot longer than anticipated.

These sessions will be in the upstairs workshop space.

Please note that this session is upstairs. It’s a single flight of 14 steps then you go around the corner and there are two small steps. Once you’re upstairs there’s a loo. You shouldn’t need to come downstairs for anything until the end of the event.

GETTING HERE

Tram to North Pier.
Bus: No 3 3a, 5 or 6 bus to Church St (Stanley Buildings) OR 3, 3A, 5, 5A,5B, 5C, 7, 7A, 14 to Talbot Rd
Driving: The closest pay and display car parks are on East Topping St and Talbot Road multi storey. There is also parking at the nearby Sainsbury’s supermarket, please make sure that you check the terms before you use the car park.
