SAMO Fund is joining LA sanitation at their Home Composting & Urban Gardening Workshop in Lopez Canyon to give away free narrow leaf milkweed!
This workshop will teach you how to turn kitchen scraps and yard trimmings into a nutrient-rich soil amendment. Home composting is taught by a team of ten rotating LA Sanitation & Environment green waste specialists. Each participant will take home a pack of narrow leaf milkweed (four to six depending on supplies).
Narrow leaf milkweed is a gorgeous native plant that serves as a host for monarch butterflies to lay their eggs. Monarch caterpillars feed exclusively on milkweed leaves. Help us increase the monarch butterfly population by picking up and caring for your own milkweed plants! 😊
