Reverend Beat-Man und Milan Slick lernten sich 2020 inmitten der Pandemie kennen, als sie gemeinsam den Soundtrack für den Vampirfilm „A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night“ von Ana Lily Amirpour komponierten.

Sie formierten sich zu einem Bühnen-Duo und spielten unter Anderem in Paris beim renommierten „Super Sonic Records“ oder im legendären „SO36“ in Berlin, um dann gemeinsam mit Béatrice Graf und Benjamin Glaus ein Album einzuspielen. Unter dem Namen „Reverend Beat-Man and the Underground“ produzierten sie dies im Rahmen des „Rocklette PALP Festivals“ - ein Soundtrack zu einer makabren Tanzparty für den Untergang der Menschheit.

Für dieses Bandprojekt trifft Reverend Beat-Man, die „super primitive Rock'n'Roll-Trash, Hi-Energy, Lo-Fi-One-Man-Band“ auf den kultivierten, cleveren, verspielten und düsteren Milan Slick. Vom 4. bis 6. März 2025 spielten sie im ehemaligen „Züri West“-Studio ihr erstes gemeinsames Album „death crossed the street“ mit Sebastian Zwahlen und dem einzigartigen Robert Butler (Miracle Workers) ein, das am 26. September 2025 erscheinen wird.

REVEREND BEAT-MAN

Ist eigentlich eine Ein-Mann-Band mit einer Mission: Blues-Trash und wilden Rock'n'Roll. Geboren 1967 in Bern, Schweiz, im Sommer der Liebe und des Hasses, ist er seit 1992 auf Tour, zuerst als „Lightning Beat-Man“, dann als „Reverend Beat-Man One-

Man-Band“ und mit seiner Band „The Monsters“. Er spielte in ganz Europa, Nord- und Südamerika, Japan, Vietnam, Neuseeland, Australien, Afrika, im legendären „CBGBs“, beim „Montreux Jazz“ und dem „Muddy Roots“ etc. 1992 gründete er sein Label „Voodoo Rhythm Records“, das bis heute besteht.

Wäre er Politiker, würden ihn sogar seine Feinde respektieren (die Schweizer Bundesregierung).

Er wurde 2014 für den Schweizer Musikpreis nominiert, gewann den lokalen Musikpreis als einflussreichster Musiker in Bern und betreibt dort einen Platten- und Souvenirladen.

MILAN SLICK

Der Singer-Songwriter Milan Slick (Jahrgang 2004) steht noch ganz am Anfang seiner Karriere, hat aber bereits mit namhaften Künstlern wie Mario Batkovic oder Birdman Jäggi oder seiner eigenen Band „Fatigues“ zusammengearbeitet. In seiner Musik sind Einflüsse von u.a. Nick Cave bis David Bowie zu hören, aber auch, dass sich eine eigenwillige junge Stimme herauskristallisiert, von der wir in Zukunft hoffentlich noch viel hören werden.

ERLEUCHTUNG & RUFO

Ein Einblick in das Bandleben fünf Weltgeschädigter der Generation Z…

Im Jahre 2018 gründen die beiden Frontsänger*innen aus München, bekannt unter den Spitznamen „Spüli“ und „Dodo“, die Musikgruppe. Ausgestattet mit einer Ukulele und ihrer unfehlbaren DIY-Attitude schreiben sie etliche „Bedroom-Pop-Songs“ und veröffentlichen diese auf SoundCloud. Anfang 2022 gehen sie zusammen mit den drei Neuzugängen „Eisbärlars“ (Schlagzeug), „Liv“ (Bass) und „Nico“ (Gitarre), live! Kurz darauf werden sie Teil des Non-Profit-Labels „Schaufel und Besen Records“. Ihre Setlists werden immer länger, bunter und politischer. Da sie selbst mehrheitlich betroffene Flinta*s sind, setzen sich die Künstler*innen auch lautstark für Queer-feministische Werte ein. Ihren Stil beschreibt die Band selbst als „Indie Punk Pop whatsoever“ denn „Genres sind ziemlich überbewertet!“. Im gleichen Jahr veröffentlichen sie ihre ersten zwei Songs auf Spotify. Die Single „Natürlich“ spielen sie live ein. Ihre zweite, „Krebs und Perle“, produzieren sie auch mit Hilfe von digitalen Elementen und knacken damit erstmals die 20.000 Streams. Der Song wird im Zündfunk auf Bayern2 gespielt. Darauf folgen Beiträge bei Radio 80000, Frequenz Magain und Great Reset. 2025 schaffen sie es dann, ihre beliebtesten Songs in einem Studioalbum festzuhalten, das auf den Namen „Best of Greatest Hits“ getauft wird. Zusammen mit ihren eigenständig gedruckten T-Shirts veröffentlichen sie, mit Hilfe ihrer Fans, die erste Ausgabe des DIY-Magazins „Rufo“.

Ihre bekanntesten Markenzeichen sind ihre energiegeladenen Liveshows und ihr humorvoller Umgang mit tief gehenden Themen. Bei jedem Auftritt schlüpfen sie in selbstgestaltete Kostüme. Von der „Rocky Horror Picture Show" bis zu ihrem „Lieblingsgemüse“ ist alles mit dabei. Denn mit dem allumfassenden Ziel, das Publikum zu unterhalten, wird auch für sie jeder Auftritt zu einer einzigartigen Performance.

Reverend Beat-Man and Milan Slick met in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic when they collaborated on the soundtrack for Ana Lily Amirpour's vampire film “A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night.”They formed a stage duo and played at venues including the renowned “Super Sonic Records” in Paris and the legendary “SO36” in Berlin, before recording an album together with Béatrice Graf and Benjamin Glaus. Under the name “Reverend Beat-Man and the Underground,” they produced this as part of the “Rocklette PALP Festival”—a soundtrack to a macabre dance party for the demise of humanity.For this band project, Reverend Beat-Man, the “super primitive rock ‘n’ roll trash, hi-energy, lo-fi one-man band,” meets the cultured, clever, playful, and dark Milan Slick. From March 4 to 6, 2025, they recorded their first joint album, “death crossed the street,” with Sebastian Zwahlen and the unique Robert Butler (Miracle Workers) at the former “Züri West” studio. Reverend Beat-Man is actually a one-man band with a mission: blues trash and wild rock ‘n’ roll. Born in Bern, Switzerland in 1967, the summer of love and hate, he has been touring since 1992, first as “Lightning Beat-Man,” then as “Reverend Beat-Man One-Man Band“ and with his band ”The Monsters.“ He has played all over Europe, North and South America, Japan, Vietnam, New Zealand, Australia, Africa, at the legendary ”CBGBs,“ at the ”Montreux Jazz“ and ”Muddy Roots“ festivals, etc. In 1992, he founded his label ”Voodoo Rhythm Records," which still exists today. If he were a politician, even his enemies would respect him (the Swiss federal government). He was nominated for the Swiss Music Prize in 2014, won the local music prize as the most influential musician in Bern, and runs a record and souvenir shop there.

MILAN SLICK
