Holotropic Breathwork, Psychedelics, & the Quest for Peace Holotropic Breathwork, Psychedelics & The Quest For Peace
Can ""turning in"" prevent us from ""tuning out? Do we really contribute to the global peace movement by working on ourselves?
Stan Grof is a pioneer in the field of psychedelic therapy and has created a cartography of the psyche’s process of (self-) healing in “non-ordinary” or ‘expanded” or “holotropic” states. Sharanya has been a Traveler in these spaces and a student of Grof’s since 1996. This evening, she will offer a talk about Grof’s work, about how we have been using it since psychedelics were made illegal, and then what the recent resurgence of psychedelic work could mean for those of who choose to take this road. The miracle of Holotropic Breathwork, created because entheogens became illegal, is that psychedelic work is now available without the substances. Same road, different vehicles.
Sharanya will share some of Grof’s methods and insights and discuss her own experiences in the field – as participant and facilitator. Her focus will be on the notion of creating a peace process through this spiritual modality. How we think of ourselves colors how we think of the world. And our thoughts become our actions.
Price: $30 early Bird; $35 on the day of.
Time: 7 pm.
