I grew up in Zeeland, and was probably the only kid in my class that didn't go to church. Raised in a very loving family, but God was not a big part of our lives. Growing up unchurched is interesting as I look back, you really don't know what you are missing. Then an event changed everything for me. For the first time I saw what I would call true joy, and it intrigued me. The journey since that day has been filled with hills and valleys as I try to become the man I am called to be. I fail often, but God's endless patience and mercy lift me back up every morning. I remember thinking that God took away freedom, but now understand that He actually offers the only true freedom in this world.
