Join us! We are Laila Sabouni and Alana Mari, belly dancers and instructors. We have been fortunate to embody the art of belly dance and its benefits for over 20 years. That's why we created this 2-hour class to share the joy of dance with you, focusing especially on its holistic approach to health and wellness.A holistic approach integrates the different dimensions of existence (mind, body, spirit is one way of phrasing this) and promotes self-knowledge, mental health and wellness.
This integrative workshop created collaboratively by Laila and Alana, includes: Mind-body exercises, meditation, Raqs Sharqi technique, combinations, traveling steps, and Baladi improvisation.
We aim to offer an approach to belly dance (especially Raqs Sharqi & Baladi), that centers body awareness, mindfulness, & connection for well-being as we practice and learn.
+ All levels and abilities welcome, suitable for newcomers to "belly dance", dancers of other styles, and experienced raqs sharqi dancers alike.
+ Adaptations will be offered or created as requested
