Holistic Horror trio!

Join Gibson's Bookstore for an evening of horror authors as 3 family members present 3 different faces of horror for a holistic horror event, scaring the whole brain. Jackson Ellis brings us Black Days, a literary thriller for fans of Shirley Jackson, Hubert Selby, Jr., and James M. Cain. His brother, Asher Ellis, brings us a more traditional horror offering with cultists, and cannibals, and demons, oh my! in Curse of the Pigman. Their uncle, Jimmy Pappas, former board member of the New Hampshire Poetry Society, brings us poetry of an unsettling bent, reading selections from his upcoming manuscript My Shaman Lover, a collection of poems, stories, and artwork dealing with themes of fantasy and the supernatural.
JACKSON ELLIS is a writer and editor from Vermont who has also spent time living in Nevada and Montana. His short fiction has appeared in The Vermont Literary Review, Sheepshead Review, Broken Pencil, The Birmingham Arts Journal, East Coast Literary Review, Midwest Literary Magazine, and The Journal of Microliterature. He is the co-publisher of VerbicideMagazine.com, which he founded as a print periodical in 1999. LORDS OF ST. THOMAS is his first novel. BLACK DAYS is his second.
ASHER ELLIS is a screenwriter, educator, and author of the novels THE REMEDY, THE THERAPY, PET, CURSE OF THE PIGMAN, and CRACKER JACK. He has written multiple award-winning short films, including EXIT 7A, which was featured in the feature-length horror anthologies, THE PORTAL and CONJURE X. When not writing, Asher enjoys hiking through the woods of his home state of Vermont (which he insists are not full of cryptids and cannibals).
JIMMY PAPPAS served during the Vietnam War as an English language instructor training South Vietnamese soldiers. He received a BA in English at Bridgewater State University and an MA in English literature from Rivier University. His poems have been published in over 100 journals, including Sheila-Na-Gig, Cha: An Asian Literary Journal, Shot Glass Journal, Off the Coast, and Boston Literary Magazine. The poem "Bobby's Story" was one of ten finalists in the 2017 Rattle Poetry Contest and won the 2018 Readers Choice Award. Other poems about veterans are included in Jimmy's first book SCREAM WOUNDS published by A15 Press in 2019. Jimmy won the Rattle chapbook prize in 2019 for FALLING OFF THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING. Jimmy now moderates a weekly Zoom poetry event called A Conversation with Jimmy and Friends.
