Edwards Place's final talk for the Historic Homes lecture series this fall will be about Holidays at the Lincoln Home. Curator Susan Haake of Lincoln Home National Historic Site will discuss the use of the Lincolns' home, with particular focus on their celebration of Christmas.In addition, this program includes time for a 19th-century holiday cornucopia craft to follow the lecture! Seating will be somewhat limited to accommodate space for crafting.
This event is free and open to the public!
Susan Haake has been the Assistant Curator and Curator at Lincoln Home National Historic Site since 1991. She is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and Eastern Illinois University with degrees in Historic Preservation and Historical Administration (Museum Studies). She is a native of all of Illinois, having been born in the Chicago suburbs and grown up in southern Illinois near Carbondale before coming to Springfield, where she still works at her at her first job out of college. In her downtime, she enjoys reading, traveling, and chocolate!
