Add an up-close and personal experience to your visit to the Zoo during the Gift of Lights with one of our Ambassador Animal encounters. These encounters do not include admission to the Zoo.During the encounter, you’ll have the opportunity to get up close to the ambassador animal, in a special meet and greet in one of our Education classrooms. Speak with Education staff about the animal and the important role they play as an ambassador for their wild counterparts or have the opportunity to feed them Zoo-approved diet (subject to participation). You can take photos as well. This is not a touch encounter.
IMPORTANT: Please pick the date that corresponds to the ambassador animal you would like to meet.
Sloth Encounter Dates and Time: 11/29, 12/7, 12/15, 12/21 at 6:00 pm
Porcupine Encounter Dates and Time: 12/1, 12/8, 12/15, 12/22 at 5:30 pm
Tamandua Encounter Dates and Time: 11/29, 12/7, 12/15, 12/21 at 7:00 pm
Cost: $25 per person. 10% Zoo Member Discount (Zoo Members must be logged into their cart on the ticketing page to get the discount).
Age Restrictions: This Animal Encounter is for people ages 6 and up.
