A collection of eight haunting holiday readings of short plays that will warm your heart with laughter before chilling you to the bone
About this Event

Who knows what lurks in the long, cold nights as we creep through darkness towards the winter solstice? We huddle together around our little lights for safety and warmth and tell each other stories of what might be out there as some sort of charm against the monsters being real. In fact, it was once tradition to tell ghost stories on Christmas Eve, something that has fallen by the wayside with the exception of A Christmas Carol, but the darkness is still out there.

FRIGID New York Resident Artistic Directors Martha Lorena Preve and Jimmy Lovett present their first joint project with this collection of haunting holiday readings featuring eight short plays that will warm your heart with laughter before chilling you to the bone.

A Gift for the Unknown by Richie Altmanshofer

The Yeti's Claw by Evan Baughfman
It’s Christmas night. A family gathers to tell ghost stories around the fireplace. And, somehow, a Yeti is involved…

Naughty or Nice by James Kelsey Nelson
Santa Claus and the holiday goat-demon Krampus accidentally arrive at the same house on Christmas Eve. Their argument over the fate of the children reaches a stalemate, so they bring in the household’s Elf on a Shelf to serve as a witness. Will the poor Rogers children be deemed naughty or nice?

I Don't DO Holidays by Daniel Prillaman
It’s time for the Community Sacrifice of Midsummer Solstice Harvest. There's just one problem. Veruth does not enjoy the Community Sacrifice of Midsummer Solstice Harvest.

In the Blink of an Eye by Joni Fritz

Glacier Striders by Kyle Walker
On an ill-fated mission across the Valdez Glacier, an Alaskan expedition becomes lost in a snowstorm on Christmas Eve, 1899. A makeshift cabin offers them shelter, but can it protect them from themselves and from the monster stalking them out in the storm?
