Holiday Homecoming: Abbie Thomas & Shiny Shiny Black at the Goshen TheaterCelebrate the season — and a year of incredible music — with award-winning singer-songwriter Abbie Thomas (and her band, The Crazy Hearts) alongside award-winning alternative folk band
Shiny Shiny Black for a one-night-only Holiday Homecoming concert at the historic Goshen Theater on November 15!
Just two weeks after the 2025 Josie Music Awards at the Grand Ole Opry — where Naptone winners Shiny Shiny Black have earned their first two JMA nominations, pianist Simon Kauffman Hurst (who plays in both bands) has received his first major nomination for Piano Player of the Year, and Abbie Thomas has earned 15 JMA nominations, a win at the Hollywood Independent Music Awards, and a first-round Grammy consideration — the artists will bring the party home to Goshen to celebrate in their hometown where the music has been created. The evening will feature full sets from each band, with songs from both artists’ brand-new holiday EPs - including classic holiday covers - alongside their award-nominated originals, blending soul, jazz, blues, alternative folk, and thoughtful songwriting into a festive, heartfelt celebration of music and community.
Individual Band Bios:
Abbie Thomas: Fresh off back-to-back JMA Artist of the Year wins (2023 & 2024), a 2025 Folk Song of the Year win (“Mid July”) at the Hollywood Independent Music Awards, and first round Grammy consideration for Not Gonna Lie, Abbie Thomas is a
rising, genre-bending singer-songwriter gaining international attention for her lyricism and live performance—where she’s even been nominated alongside Olivia Rodrigo. Rooted in soulful vocals with touches of Blues, Jazz, and 70’s songwriter vibes, her music is written to bring people together and remind listeners they’re not alone. From intimate piano ballads to retro-soul anthems with her band, “The Crazy Hearts,” Thomas captivates audiences with what UK’s FATEA Magazine calls an “ageless vocal, sitting somewhere between Diana Ross and Kacey Musgraves.”
Shiny Shiny Black:
Shiny Shiny Black is an award-winning alternative folk band based in Goshen, IN. Featuring Nate and Amber Butler, this wife-and-husband fronted group writes music for the long haul. Recording and performing since 2012 in a style described as “U2 meets Tom Petty,” their music explores themes of growth and perseverance, featuring classic guitar tones, hooks interwoven with groove and
harmony, and permeated with care for the communities they encounter. They compel us to believe: tragic songs make a path to optimism’s home.
