Get ready for the winter holiday season with these fun off mandrel glass sculpture pieces: icicles, candy canes, and Christmas trees!
In this three hour glass experience you will make icicles to decorate your tree or window, a glass candy cane and a small glass christmas tree. Add these fun accessories to your holiday decore and bring seasonal cheer to your jewelry making and gift giving. You'll learn:
- to shape and pull an Icicle in transparent glass
- how to make a twisty, and shape it into a candy cane
- how to shape a tree and add dots and add a base for a stand alone decoration
You’ll also get time to practice and experiment with these glass techniques.
Prerequisites
or prior experience using a propane torch to form glass beads is suggested, but not required.
Dress Code
- Full length pants and closed-toed shoes
- Hair ties for longer hair
- Please wear natural fibers (wool,cotton,etc) for fire safety
What to Bring
- We recommend you bring your own safety glasses if possible. Maker Nexus will supply them for students who do not have their own.
Equipment Certifications
This class does not certify attendees to use any Maker Nexus equipment outside of class.
