Join us for our holiday decoration workshop all about kokedama! What is a Kokedama? The name comes from “koke” meaning moss and “dama” meaning ball. It is a form of Japanese garden art and a unique way to display plants and flowers for the New Year!
The moss sphere is the focal point of the display, supported by decorative plants and ornaments. For the Japanese, the month of December is spent focusing on the concept of purifying, which includes cleaning the home or office, settling old debts, encouraging blessings and also welcoming and celebrating a fresh New Year.
Our workshop will help you understand the Japanese tradition for welcoming in the New Year and meaning behind all of the exquisite Japanese materials we use for decoration.
Includes a complete kit with all of the decorative materials needed. This makes it easy for the beginner to simply assemble the arrangement with step-by-step instruction and feedback from our instructor and then bring home the display to enjoy for yourself this winter.
Time: 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm
Fee: $45 General / $40 Member

CANCELLATION POLICIES
Cancellation & Refund Policies:
All classes that do not meet the minimum enrollment one week prior to the start date may be subject to cancellation at the Garden's discretion. The Garden will contact registered participants in classes affected by cancellations and offer refunds or placement in an alternate class. Workshop/program participants who withdraw from a class/program at least ten business days prior to the scheduled workshop/program start date may receive a full refund on their registration. (A “business day” is defined as M-F.)
Refunds will not be given to workshop/program participants who withdraw from a class after the first class has been held.
Missed Classes:
Workshop/program participants who do not show up to the workshop/program without notification before the scheduled workshop/program must forfeit their payment and reservation
