This holiday concert is an uplifting and tender program that explores the many different faces of love. It opens and closes with two stunning interpretations of the Magnificat: Antonio Vivaldi’s Baroque masterpiece Magnificat in G minor and Dale Trumbore’s Magnificat, a contemporary reimagining of ancient text set to Lynn Ungar’s poignant poem. Trumbore’s modern composition offers a fresh perspective on the traditional canticle, reflecting on the realization that “…in being magnified, God gets small”. Join us for a moving and thought-provoking dialogue between past and present, decorated by seasonal Christmas carols and choral favorites by John Rutter, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Arvo Pärt, John Gardner, and Tomás Luis de Victoria. All of this takes place in the beautiful St. Peter's Chapel, with its 25 luminous stained glass windows by Tiffany! Doors open at 1:30pm so you have ample time to enjoy St. Peter's Chapel.
