This holiday season, savor an afternoon tea as you enjoy the ambiance of the historic Ironclad Inn (formerly Kenmore Inn), along with live harpsichord music. The Inn will be beautifully decorated as part of the Fredericksburg Candlelight Tour, and Veronica Allison will share her amazing talents with us as she plays period music and Christmas Carols. Learn about teatime and entertaining in colonial America from Heather Meadows and discover what it may have been like to celebrate Christmas as a member of the Washington family with Kevin Anderson.
The ticket price is $55.00 per person and includes a Full Tea with a selection of savories and sweets, hot tea, live music, and a presentation by our guest speakers. Note: Tickets are non-refundable.
About Veronica:
Veronica is new to 18th-century interpretation, having joined Washington Heritage Museums in April of 2023. She has played piano since the age of eight, but her love of harpsichord playing began more recently. She performs during the Mary Washington Christmas Open House as well as the yearly Handel’s Messiah performance in Fredericksburg.
About Heather:
You may recognize Heather in her recurring role as Mary Washington, both at one of our Tea Talks and the WHM Speaker Series. A Fredericksburg native, her love of history began at the age of four as she participated in Civil War reenactments with her family. She has been a historical interpreter at seven museums around the Fredericksburg area.
About Kevin:
Originally from southern Maryland, Kevin’s love for history began as a middle schooler, and he has been an avid reader of 18th-century Virginia history his entire life. He will be the first to tell you that he is obsessed with George Washington! Kevin has been interpreting at Washington Heritage Museums for nearly four years and for three with the George Washington Foundation.
