Join us for a one-day workshop where you will make your own clay jar inspired by the canopic jars in the Museum’s Egyptology collection.Find out more about the ancient Egyptian process of mummification, the role of canopic jars, handle authentic objects from the Museum collection, and learn about the gods and goddesses of ancient Egypt.
Use this information to design and model your own clay jar using a variety of clay hand-building techniques under the expert guidance of Rachel from Big Sky Arts.
Your workshop will be led by Rachel from Big Sky Arts and Museum staff. A maximum of 8 young people will be in attendance at this event.
This is an unaccompanied workshop, please ensure you read all of the relevant parent/carer information on our website before booking your child a place. Adults are welcome to accompany their child if they would prefer.
Suitable for young people aged 10-15.
