Join Goodwood Museum for this Holiday Card Workshop on Friday, November 15, from 1-3 PM, in the Jubilee Cottage.

Humans have been using greeting cards to acknowledge life events, milestones, and holidays since the 15th century, and this workshop will allow you to delve into this age-old tradition, while employing imagination and creativity.

Whether it is a lavishly decorated boutique card or a child's rendering in crayon, everyone delights in receiving a card that has been created or chosen uniquely for them.

At this workshop, local Tallahassee artist Katherine Hale will demonstrate how you can create lovely greeting cards for friends and family, just in time for the holiday season!

Hagel will demonstrate how you can create your own lovely greeting cards from scratch, provide materials to work with, demonstrate easy tricks and techniques, and offer hands-on assistance to participants.

Along the way, Hagel will keep the workshop lively with facts about the history of card-making and sending, linking the past and present together all within this 2-hour class.

All materials will be provided, but attendees are welcome to bring card-making materials from home, if they have preferences on what they would like to create.

Katherine Hagel is a longtime Tallahassee resident and local artist.
An alum of Florida State University with majors in art, advertising, and textile design, Hagel worked as a graphics designer and illustrator for firms in Tallahassee, Gainesville, and Savannah, GA. She also worked as an illustrator and cartographer for the State of Florida, and with interior designers in Savannah, Hilton Head, and Tallahassee.
She applied her talent in marketing and events planning at the Capital City Country Club before starting a home-based fashion business.
She now spends 'retirement' in her home studio, honing her skill as a painter while still happily dabbling in her crafts and fashion design, and enjoys volunteering weekly at Goodwood Museum & Gardens.
