About this Event
The brass program includes Madrigalum, by Philip Sparke, which spans the styles of 16th century madrigals and contemporary music; The Coventry Carol, by Howard Lorriman, an adaptation of a traditional English Christmas carol that dates to at least the 16th century; and Canterbury Chorale, by Jan Van der Roost, a majestic work inspired by the Canterbury Cathedral in England.
The handbell choir will perform Morning Glory, by Brenda Austin, an award-winning composition that samples the range of handbell effects; and Deck the Hall, arranged by Karen Buckwalter, which combines "Deck the Hall" and "Gentle Mary Laid Her Child" in a joyful celebration of the holiday season.
The audience will also join with the band in singing traditional holiday favorites, from Hark the Herald to We Three Kings.
