About this Event
The Lunar New Year is a time of reunion and bright red joy. Yet for many, the festivities can cast a sharper shadow, highlighting who or what is no longer at the table. Whether you are grieving a deceased loved one, mourning a past version of yourself, a relationship that has ended, or dreams that have shifted with the years, come join us for a warm, intentional evening where we make gentle space for all that you hold, within the rhythm of tradition.
What to Expect
We will move through a simple, flowing journey together:
- A Welcoming Tea Ceremony to arrive and anchor ourselves.
- Reflective Exercise with prompts inspired by CNY symbolism (like the unwritten angbao blessing or the act of emotional spring cleaning).
- Gentle Rituals of Release & Continuity, using elements of water and the enduring symbol of the red thread, to let go of burdens and consciously carry forward what matters.
- Quiet Camaraderie and light snacks in a supportive community.
This is for you if:
- The phrase "happy new year" feels complex this season.
- You want to honour your grief with people who understand.
- You seek a ritual way to acknowledge an ending as a new cycle begins.
- You believe tradition can hold both joy and sorrow.
You'll leave with:
- A sense of peace and permission for your experience.
- A personal "red thread" talisman of connection.
- Gentle, practical ways to navigate the festive season.
