About this Event
Hans Holbein the Younger was a masterful draftsman and a skilled businessman. He portrayed his contemporaries with deft intention to flatter and register the subject’s station in society. Working during the reign of Henry VIII (1509-1547), the German artist traveled among the courts of Europe from London to Basel, making a superb record of monarchs, philosophers, and courtiers. Join art muse Katherine Zoraster to meet some of Holbein’s patrons and to discuss these remarkable portraits.
